A graduation ceremony was held at ‘Technical and Business Training Center’, Dhunge, Nuwakot, on 9th of February between10 girls and women from Shikherbesi, after completing 3 months of tailoring course.
CarNetNepal run the tailoring training from November, 2017 to January, 2018. Girls and women from poor economic background and marginalized community of Shikherbesi, Nuwakot were selected for the training. Shikherbesi is supposedly one of the vulnerable area of human trafficking in Nuwakot. The local government officials and community people keeping these girls and women vulnerable of trafficking in mind, have recommended their name for the training to CarNetNepal.
“The training aims to provide technical skills to the trainee girls and women, so they could involve in their own income generation activities and keeping them away from the unsafe migration.” Says Purushottam Dotel- Cluster Manager, CarNetNepal. According to Ms. Chameli Sunuwar- tailoring training Trainer “Now these girls and women are able to run their own tailoring shop in their villages or could work as an assistant trainer in any tailoring institute.”
